Fellowship Hall of the Ponds Reformed Church

Master Magician Steve Woyce will present his all-new 2017 Summer Show "The Magic of Sharks".  This entertaining and educational show will feature comedy magic, a boat-load fo audience participation, and fun shark facts all rolled into an unforgettable time for the whole family!  Oakland families are invited to attend.  Juice and cookies will be served.  The program in sponsored by the New Friends of the Oakland Public Library, and is free of charge.  Registration begins Tuesday, August 1st.  Register in person, by phone 201-337-3742 or online below:

solareclipseTotal Solar Eclipse Viewing Party 
Monday, August 21st at 2:00 PM

The Solar Eclipse Viewing Party will start at 2:00. The Eclipse begins at 1:22 and the total eclipse should occur at 2:45. The first 100 Oakland residents to arrive will receive a free pair of NASA certified viewing glasses. This registration is for the Children's pinhole viewer craft. Oakland children are invited to make a pinhole viewer and learn how this device works to let them safely view the eclipse. Register in person, by phone at 201-337-3742 or online Click Here.

This is an opportunity for those children entering schools in Oakland to meet their classmates prior to the first day of school.  A special story time and gift-for-teacher craft is planned.  (All kindergartners are asked to bring a wallet-sized photo of themselves for their teacher craft.
