Babies, Toddlers, Preschool

We'd love to have you join us for story time!  All story times are located in the Library's story gallery.
Registration is requested, but not required.  Registration begins Tuesday, September 11th.

Tots Library Club (TLC)
Tots Library club is an unstructured, early literacy experience for Birth to 24 months and their caregiver.
Nine-week session: September 27th through November 29th
Thursdays from 10:00-10:45 AM is playtime, and then stay for a short 15-minute session of nursery rhymes, fingerplays, and songs from 10:45-11:00 AM! 

Terrific 2s and 3s
Story time for Ages 2 & 3 and their caregiver.  This fall season will feature special sessions focusing on music and movement, as well as traditional story and craft time.  
Five-week session: September 28th, October 12th, October 26, November 9th & November 30th
Fridays 10:30-11:00 AM

Preschool Story Time
This fall season will feature special sessions focusing on music and movement, as well as the more traditional story and craft time.  Ages 3-5
Eight-week session: September 24th through November 26th
Mondays from 10:30-11:00 AM & 1:00-1:30 PM

The Oakland Public Library Board of Trustees would like to announce that, after 31 years of dedicated service to the Library, Edward Von Lindern is retiring. There will be a send off for Mr. Von Lindern on Friday, September 28 at 3:00 PM at the library and the public is invited to attend and say goodbye to Mr. Ned.

Oakland Children Ages 5 & Up
Registration Begins September 18th

“Tail Waggin’ Tutors” is an opportunity for Oakland children, ages 5 & up, to read to a very lovable dog. Daisy, and her “Mom”, Jeannie, will visit the Library on Tuesday, October 2nd from 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Daisy is a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International. Each child will have about ten minutes to read a favorite story to her. The program will be held in the Library’s story gallery.
