Presented by Dr. James Kane
Monday, March 6th at 6:30 PM
A rare emerald, the Irish call their home "Forty Shades of Green", and this fast-paced one-hour lecture, slides, and CD music will take a visit to that lovely land 'beyond the Irish Sea'. Learn about Dublin and her one thousand year old history; in many ways still a 19th century city. You'll also visit Galway, Cork, Belfast, and the splendid small-walled city of Derry.
Dr. Kane is a former teacher, prep school headmaster, principal and, for 25 years, a superintendent of schools. He presently is a professor of history at William Paterson University. He received his bachelor's from Fordham University, a master's from Columbia University and a doctor of education from NYU. Dr. Kane is also a graduate of the United States Marine Corps Office Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia and holds the rank of Captain, USMCR. He served as a Marine infantry officer in the famed First Marine Brigade, Fleet Marine Force in the Pacific. In addition, he is a graduate of the NJ State Department of Education Executive Academy. He was awarded the Diplomat in Education by the NJ Association of School Administrators. This program is made possible by the generous support of the NFOPL.
